Want to really get cooking in Cuba?

Heads up! "Cuban Culinary Experience" is in the works for April trip to Marea del Portillo

As some of you may know, I like to try new things. In April, you can too! I've arranged a new activity for my April 2018 group trip to Cuba that I'm confident will be deliciously fun, as well educational. We'll travel by horse carriage to the home of Barbara & Diomedes in the village of Marea del Portillo, about 2 km from the resort where we'll be staying.

Pig roasts are a delectable tradition!

My friends have agreed to give the group Cuban cooking lessons, followed by a traditional, family-style dinner. We'll learn how to make tostones, chicharitas, congri & their excellent version of shrimp cocktail. Then we'll settle in for an awesome meal, complete with some kind of roast beast & all the trimmings! (Pro tip: wear loose-fitting clothes.)
Cooking congri is a fine art in Cuba.
You may be wondering: when in April? Well, I'm not sure yet. It will most likely be April 11-18, but it could be the week before or the week after, if people reply & express a strong preference for a certain date. So, let me know if April 11 is okay, or if April 4 or 18 would be better. The flights from Toronto to this location in southern Cuba always leave & return on Wednesdays.

Hasta luego,
