Have a lovely holiday wherever you are!

Enjoy your time with family & friends!

If you're traveling, go safely. Gord & I, Utah (dog) & Ferne (aunt) will be hitting the road (safely, of course) next week, heading for Scottdale, PA, to celebrate Christmas with my family & my mother's 85th birthday. If you're in that area, give me a call & we can try to get together! My cell phone will have call/text service (647-216-1791) but I'll have limited access to email & such, Dec. 21-27 ...like when I'm in Cuba except it won't be warm!

Special Christmas gift for a cook? Booking now: Cuban culinary trip!

"Cuban Culinary Experience" is one of three special activities planned for April 11 trip

We've got prices, details and deadlines for the April 11 trip to Club Amigo Marea del Portillo, Cuba... but only 10 days to book this group! Wouldn't a food-themed trip make a great Christmas gift for the chef in your life? Or, maybe you need to plan a warm, delicious holiday for yourself – something to help you get through the upcoming winter months. For more information about the Cuban culinary experience, please see the preceding post.

But wait, there's more! In addition to the cooking lessons and family-style feast in a Cuban home, we'll also have an art show and interactive music event in a nearby town and, of course, the always-popular group welcome dinner with live music by Robertico and friends. And, keep in mind that, although this is a group trip, it doesn't mean we have to do everything together; it just means you get a great price for the trip and have some interesting, optional activities as part of your exclusive JennicaCuba travel package.

I'll look forward to hearing from you!

Want to really get cooking in Cuba?

Heads up! "Cuban Culinary Experience" is in the works for April trip to Marea del Portillo

As some of you may know, I like to try new things. In April, you can too! I've arranged a new activity for my April 2018 group trip to Cuba that I'm confident will be deliciously fun, as well educational. We'll travel by horse carriage to the home of Barbara & Diomedes in the village of Marea del Portillo, about 2 km from the resort where we'll be staying.

Pig roasts are a delectable tradition!

My friends have agreed to give the group Cuban cooking lessons, followed by a traditional, family-style dinner. We'll learn how to make tostones, chicharitas, congri & their excellent version of shrimp cocktail. Then we'll settle in for an awesome meal, complete with some kind of roast beast & all the trimmings! (Pro tip: wear loose-fitting clothes.)
Cooking congri is a fine art in Cuba.
You may be wondering: when in April? Well, I'm not sure yet. It will most likely be April 11-18, but it could be the week before or the week after, if people reply & express a strong preference for a certain date. So, let me know if April 11 is okay, or if April 4 or 18 would be better. The flights from Toronto to this location in southern Cuba always leave & return on Wednesdays.

Hasta luego,
